Dolores Paul

Jacksonville - Prayers will begin Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, 2726 Center Road., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, for Dolores Ann Fortunato Paul, 90, who died Wednesday morning at her residence in Florida.

Dolores was born Aug 3, 1926, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Ann (Polovischak) Fortunato.

She attended The Ohio State University and Youngstown College (now YSU), and worked as a Medical Technologist for the Youngstown Hospital Association for several years. Dolores married Dr. Robert J. Paul, Sr. on May 7, 1955, who predeceased her. She was an active member of the Trumbull County Medical Auxiliary and like her late husband was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. Dolores spent much of her life in Warren until she and her husband retired to Florida. Her greatest dedication and devotion was to her family and her dear friends.

Dolores leaves two daughters, Dr. Elaine Paul of Powell, OH., and Lynne (Anthony) Petrizzo ARNP of St. Augustine, Fl.; her son, Dr. Robert Jr. (Cindy) of Sarasota, FL; her sister, Barbara Elaine (William Jr.) Gibson of Poland, OH; her brother, Alfred (Mary Juliene) Fortunato of Estero, FL.; and four grandchildren; Jessica Paul Johnson, Christie Paul, and Marissa and Steven Briggs.

Family and friends may call Tuesday, July 18, 2017, from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home.
