He also taught electronics at ATES Technical School. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, where with his wife, he was one of its founding members in 1954.

Andy leaves his wife, the former Jean Zlogar, whom he married on May 2, 1953, in Youngstown; and their children, Daniel Kohler of Youngstown, David Kohler of Austintown, and Amy Nolan of Solon. He also leaves a brother, George (Gertrud) Kohler of Granada Hills, Calif.; five grandchildren, Zachary and Molly Kohler, Brendan Nolan, Casey (Kim) Skufca, and Heather Skufca; four great-granddaughters; nieces Carla (Prossick) Vocelle, Monica, Christine and Andrea Kohler, and Dee-Dee (DePietro) Ansbro; and nephews David Prossick, Shawn Ansbro, and Harry J. DePietro.
